Summer is here and the Borough of Pompton Lakes provides various activities to keep our children safe and active. The Pompton Lakes Council, the Recreation Department and the Prevention Coalition / Municipal Alliance support and encourage children to participate in the various activities offered through the summer months.
Pompton Lakes Recreation Department offers the following:
Summer Day Camp, a 5 week program began on June 24th and runs through June 26th at Hershfield Park from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Campers in grades pre-k through 6th must be registered to attend the summer camp program. The program includes sports, arts and crafts, workshops, and field trips.
Middle School Summer Camp begins on July 8th and runs through July 19th form 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. located in the Pompton Lakes High School Gym. All who attend must be registered.
The Teen Center is opened throughout the day at specific times for those who are registered. Summer hours are Monday through Thursday, 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. and Friday, 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The Teen Center offers activities that include the use of a pool table, a game room and an open gym.
Summer Community Events
Senior Picnic, scheduled for August 8th at the Pompton Lakes Elks Lodge from 12:00 noon through 2:00 p.m. and this is a free event for all seniors.
Town Wide Garage Sale July 13th from 9:00 a.m. to dusk; summer concerts on the Library Lawn during July and August; National Night Out August 6th beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Pompton Lakes High School back parking lot.
Save the Date -- Pompton Day, scheduled for Sunday, September 1st, rain date Monday, September 2nd provides activities throughout the day.
