Community Services

* Pompton Lakes has a full time Police Force, a large volunteer Fire Department, volunteer First Aid Squad and an active Office of Emergency Management

* A Community Emergency Response Team and a phone and text emergency notification system are also features of our community

* Our Public Works Department provides curbside trash and recycling pickup, and a recycling center open 6 days per week

* Our own municipal water department is supplied by deep aquifers and our water was recently voted best tasting water in New Jersey

* The Borough has a cable channel for disseminating local news and information

* There are Several active environmentally oriented volunteer organizations including the Open Space Committee, Shade Tree Commission, Trail Maintenance Committee, Flood Advisory Board, Stormwater Management Committee, and Lake Restoration Committee

* Senior housing and senior day care are available privately

* A Civic Center is available as a meeting place for local community groups

* We have Boy Scout (Scouts of America) and Girl Scout troops as well as VFW, Elks, Rotary, Masons and Women’s clubs
