Mayor's Message - November 2020

Mayor

As we begin the month of November, and the
leaves continue to fall off the trees, I would remind everyone to refer to theTown Calendar for the trash and leaf collection schedule.

In the month of November, we celebrate and
observe Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.  This year, the Mayor and Council willacknowledge our Veterans for their military service and pay homage to those
during the Council Meeting.  Although, weare conforming to COVID guidelines, our respect and message remains the same
for those who have served our country.  We appreciate all the men and woman that have served and continue to serve for defending our freedoms not only on Veterans Day but everyday.

The Pompton Lakes Chamber of Commerce AnnualCar Show and Holiday Stroll have been canceled.  A local organization of businesses, professionals and eateries who serve
the community and promote growth within the Business District offer support, eventsand programs.  This year has been
exceptionally challenging for local business.  Members for the Chamber of Commerce continue to be creative with innovative ideas that assist local retail.  I thank the members of the Chamber of Commercefor their unified voice in the business district.  I continue to urge residents to shop local
and support our businesses.

Programs during the month of Novemberinclude the Free Rabies Clinic on November 14, 2020 at the Pompton Lakes High
School – refer to Borough website for details.  TheBorough Health Department continues to offer Flu Vaccines every Monday from
2:30pm-4:15pm and an appointment is required; call 973-835-0143 x 235.

Icontinue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and provide updates accordingly.  Please remain diligent and abide with
restrictions and State guidelines in an effort to contain the virus.  Be mindful of large family gatherings duringthe upcoming holidays. Social distance, wear masks and avoid indoor gatherings.

In
