Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update 10/13/2020


As of Tuesday, October 13, we have 8 new cases of the virus in Pompton Lakes in the last two weeks. This brings our total to approximately 271 reported cases.   Thank you to all of our residents for continuing to wear masks and practice social distancing.
Numbers in NJ are slowing rising please be diligent in wearing your masks.
We continue to mourn the loss of the nine residents who passed due to virus complications. Our hearts are with their loved ones.
Passaic County will be hosting a COVID-19 testing site at Pompton Lakes High School, October 17 from 9-3pm. No appointment or prescription needed. Please go to the Passaic County website for more information.
Gyms and indoor dinning are open at 25 percent capacity.  Martial arts studios and insides sports can now open at 25 percent and all sports groups can now practice as long as they abide by strict state guidelines. Outside gatherings can have up to 500 people with 6 feet of separation and masks on. Indoor gatherings  25 percent capacity or up to 150 people. 
Unfortunately most town events through the recreation department for the rest of the year have been canceled. The holiday stroll has been canceled. 
Thank you again to the Business Improvement District (BID) for working with our chamber to reopen our businesses. Please go out and support our wonderful restaurants and small businesses. They are taking all necessary precautions to ensure you can enjoy your dining, salon, or shopping experience safely. 
Let us all remember to thank our first responders and health care workers for all they are doing  for all of us.
