Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update March 25, 2020

As of today, Wednesday, March 25th, we have five confirmed cases of the virus in Pompton Lakes. All are home self-isolating, including the gentleman who was in the hospital. He is now home and doing better. We have one home with two infected family members bringing our total to five. I have included the confirmed count for the county in this post.

We should all continue self-isolating at home, and of course, hand washing and social distancing. Parents, please remind your children they should not be gathering in groups, whether in homes, at parks, or basketball courts. Children should also be practicing social distancing.

The Governor has signed into law which businesses are considered essential at this time. This law includes grocery stores, pharmacies, hardware stores, take out food, gas stations, and financial institutions (to name a few). All other retail businesses are closed. Please see our web page for the full list.

Let’s all do our part to keep our residents safe, as well as all our first responders and medical front line workers safe.

Garbage and recycling remains open. Borough Hall is open by appointment only. Please call first before arriving.

We are all in this together.

Everyone stay safe and try to look for the positive. Enjoy the time home with your family.

Thank you,
