Statement on First Confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) Test of Pompton Lakes Resident

COVID-19 UPDATE SQUARE GRAPHIC

Dear Pompton Lakes Residents,

I regret to inform you that we have been notified by the Passaic County Health Officials for the first confirmed positive Coronavirus (COVID-19) test of a Pompton Lakes Resident.

The resident is a 46 year old male and his test was confirmed at St. Joseph Regional Hospital.

We must all be vigilant together in following the recommendations of Public Health Officials when it comes to social distancing, hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes and disinfecting common areas. Non-essential travel should be curtailed and we should all stay at our homes as much as possible.

Should you exhibit any symptoms of illness, consult your personal doctor to discuss treatment options.

We have issued a local State of Emergency that included restrictions. Please review our town website www.pomptonlakes-nj.gov for updates and restrictions.

I ask everyone to please be patient as we continue to work to provide accurate information to the public. Stay well and we will all get through this pandemic together.

Sincerely,

Michael Serra

Mayor, Pompton Lakes
